If the car has interior motion sensors then there should be a scan deactivation button near the driver side door catch. If I wanted to permanently disable the interior sensors so as to minimise false alarms would there be any downside to putting tape over the sensors?
The alarm on my Focus has started going off for no reason interestingly, both times it was a similar time of night, around I've had the same problem with just leaving the windows open a bit on a hot day. Locking the doors with one press on the fob still activates the alarm, its just that a second press activates dead-locking.
I will try using the key in the lock instead of remote locking and will report back. On the drivers door will be a button on mine if I press the top it folds the mirrors, if I press the bottom it deactivates the interior sensors.
One click or two on the key fob will still activate the alarm. I have a button on the driver's door as above but there is no light or other way of knowing if it is set or not - does it reset itself automatically every time or is it once and forget? problem with car alarm going off for no reason
I inspected my car and there is no damage, no noticeable attempts at a break in. What will make my car alarm go off?? Accidentally poste Does something need to be reset? Though i think it may have to go back anyway as it looks like the brand new Windscreen Washer Bottle Water Reservoir is leaking!!
Could be the door or bonnet closed sensor which is causing you the problem. When you drive it do you occasionally get a door open warning too?
I had this issue a while after replacing a door and one of the wires in the door harness had come loose so it wasn't always making a connection. Once the wire was properly seated in the harness everything was fine. As for shutting the bonnet The bonnet lock has a microswitch that is mounted onto the bonnet lock mechanism.Nasbandi hone ke baad
The microswitch has 2 locating tabs and one retaining tab that holds it in place. The switch closes the circuit when the bonnet is closed. When the bonnet is open there is an open circuit. If the switch is faulty it can be temporarily disabled to prevent the alarm from going off by disconnecting the connector and bridging the wires of the connector for example by using a paperclip.
You should inspect the bonnet lock for any damage. A slightly bend bonnet lock for example can be the cause of the alarm going off. Re closing the bonnet, my Mk 2. Re the bonnet alarm, my dear departed Mk3 Mondeo had the same problem and I shorted out the switch as Wilco describes above.
I don't know if it's the same on the Focus but advice on another forum Talkford warned that the front crash sensor for the airbag was irritatingly close to the bonnet alarm connector and that care should be taken a not to short the wrong pair of wires and b that to do so might set off the airbag.
Apologies if all that isn't relevant here. I think you should take it back to be sorted really for all the problems, especially the crease in the bonnet which could be the cause of the alarm problem. If you tinker with it they might refuse to even look at it again. That yellow bit of kit isn't a grown-up bonnet release is it? Don't tell me Ford has finally seen sense and abandoned the daft key-behind-the-badge idea?!
Windscreen Washer Bottle Water Reservoir i cannot decide if it is leaking or if its when i filling it up there is still water collected at the bottom when i overflowed will just have keep eye on it for a bit.
Just to add, the car will log the alarm trigger.
I don't know if Forscan can pick it up, I know a dealer can with their equipment. New switch sorted it.
I don't think there's an overflow. It's probably a leak where the filler tube fits into the reservoir so it will stop once the level gets below the bottom of the tube. Step 2: Start the car. Put the key in the ignition and try to start the car. Almost all alarms, both factory installed and aftermarket systems, will shut off and reset when the car is started. This will usually turn off and reset the alarm. Step 4: Pull the fuse. A factory-installed alarm will have a fuse in the fuse box; pull the fuse to cut the circuit and shut down the alarm.
Look for the fuse box on the left hand side of the steering column. Fuse boxes usually have a fuse diagram on the lid of the fuse box. Most alarm fuses have an alarm label on them. Remove the fuse. If the alarm shuts off, you have pulled the correct fuse. Once the alarm has shut down, reinstall the fuse and see if this resets the system. If the alarm starts up again, it is time to bring in a pro to repair it.
If the alarm system is an aftermarket itemlook for the fuse in the engine compartment. Step 5: Disconnect the battery.Télécharger schritt für schritt zur ölmalerei durch karl heinz
This is a last resort, as it will reset all of the electrical systems in the vehicle and your vehicle will not start until the battery is reconnected. Disconnect the negative terminal the black one from your battery. The alarm should shut off immediately. Wait a minute or two and reconnect the battery. Hopefully, the alarm has reset and will not start up again.
If it does, try removing the battery cable again. Step 6: Maintain your key fob.Undertale papyrus fight simulator
Most modern cars use a key fob to lock and unlock the doors and shut off your alarm. Unfortunately, the fob will not work if the batteries are dead, or it is simply not working.Mearns quail for sale uk
If it was necessary to unhook the battery to stop the alarm, a professional mechanic, such as one from YourMechanic, should inspect the entire system to make sure everything works normally. The most popular service booked by readers of this article is Check Electrical Equipment.
I figured maybe it was a snowball or something but then took it for a drive and everything was fine. About a couple weeks later starts going off at 12 in the morning!
Go back inside and 15 mins later does it again, and then 15 mins later does it again. I unplugged the battery for the night and went to bed. Later that day i brought it to Ford and they said they couldn't get the alarm to go off but gave me a sheet showing that the alarm had infact gone off 5 times.
The reason, attempted start. So the advisor told me something or someone was trying to start my car. He basically pinned it on me saying i must have a tuner or something and that Ford's hate electronics and that's whats probably doing. He told me whatever i had installed to keep it uninstalled and said they also cleared all the codes so next time when it comes in they can re read it and see what it says the next time and that it was just something to keep an eye on.
Then today it starts going off again. My dad assumed because he lightly leaned on it that he'd set it off but then 15 mins later he comes in saying its doing it again and that they weren't anywhere near it, and then 15 mins later does it again. SO i took it for a drive and now its not doing it anymore. Anyone have this issue? I'll bring it to Ford ASAP but unfortunately its probably going to be one of those deals where they probably say "we couldn't duplicate or get the car to do anything" and send me on my way, just for it to start happening again in a week or something.

I have found that it is a sensitivity with the alarm system to the big temperature changes in the winter time because that's the only time I have that problem. It would only go off when it would change from being really cold to warming up fast in the morning- then the alarm would go off. No problems anyother times of the year. Lanay answered 6 years ago. I've been having the same problem with my alarm but as time goes on it's appearing to me that it is not a temperature issue.
When it first started happening I thought that was the case, maybe from condensation or something. Now on top of that issue every so often my indicator light on my dash will read Rear Right door Ajar and my my interior lights will not shut off.
When this has happened I end up having to just disconnect the battery but it's only been a temporary fix. I'm guessing I have a bad sensor in my rear door or something. Sorry to jump on your post but I've also been desperately looking for a solution myself. Hope you find a solution. AprilThomas answered 4 years ago. Jeff answered 4 years ago.
